Established by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir through J&K Legislative Assembly Act No. XVIof2002 and recognised by the AICTE and UGC, New Delhi, under sections 2 (f) &12 (B), Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University is mandated to impart quality education in Science &Technology ,Management, Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities and undertake research in basic and job oriented applied courses. The University is located at the slopes of Dhanidhar hills, the southern peripheral part of the majestic Pir Panjal Mountain range. The unique geographical location in rural setting offers ideal ambience for teaching and learning. The University campus is 9 km from Rajouri town at an altitude of 1,178 meters above the mean sea level. The nearest airport and railway station to BGSB University, Rajouri are Jammu Airport (IXJ) and Jammu Tawi Railway Station (JAT). From Jammu, one can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Rajouri, which is approximately 150 km away. The climate of the place varies from subtropical to temperate. Frequent rains, occasional hailstorms and snowfall account for the moderate climate and serene atmosphere of the campus and its neighbourhood.
The Department of Mathematical Sciences is proud to be one of the oldest departments established at the University in 2005, playing a key role in the academic development.
The Department of Mathematics is a vibrant academic community of scholars dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and service. The mission is to provide students with a comprehensive education in mathematics, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving skills, logical reasoning.
Department offers specialized programs in mathematics. Our curriculum is designed to cater to the diverse needs of students, from pure mathematics to applied mathematics in fields such as Functional Analysis, Operator Theory, Variational Analysis, Fixed Point Theory, Wavelet Analysis, Diff. Equations, Image Processing, Mathematical & Theoretical Biology, Bio-Mechanics etc. The Department maintains a well-stocked library, generously funded by the National Board of Higher Mathematics, as well as a fully equipped computer lab
The graduates of the Department have gone on to pursue successful careers in academia, research, industry, and government, demonstrating the versatility and value of a mathematics education.
The main objective of this conference is to bring together senior and young researchers working in the areas of applicable analysis and its applications at the BGSB University which is located in the Pir panjal region of the Jammu and Kashmir and provide a platform to the local researchers to interact with researchers of international repute.
Original and unpublished papers are invited for presentation in the conference.
