Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri, (J&K)

College of Nursing Kishtwar was established in 2016 under the Government of Jammu and Kashmir. The college is coming under the School of Nursing and Biomedical Sciences for Women of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri (J&K) and is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi since its beginning.

The department is currently offering Basic B.Sc Nursing degree course of four years. We have an annual intake of 40 students who are selected purely on the merit obtained in the common entrance examination conducted by BGSB University, Rajouri.

The department trains nurses to meet the challenges emerging in the health care sector. The qualified and experienced full- time nursing faculty provides the right mix of inputs consisting of theoretical, practical and clinical experience. At College of Nursing Kishtwar, students are provided comprehensive education, both theoretical and practical, designed to sharpen critical thinking skills, stimulate scientific inquiry, develop effective practice and cultivate qualities of compassion and caring, fully integrating theoretical learning with clinical experiences within a caring environment. The College of Nursing Kishtwar is situated in the middle of the city and is about 100 meters away from mini bus and 2 km away from the main bus stand. In order to provide a cutting edge clinical facility apart from our well equipped laboratories, live practices are given to our students in our concerned parental hospital, District Hospital Kishtwar. Class rooms are equipped with smart classroom technology which enables teachers to use excellent teaching resources such as animation clips, videos, pictures, etc for the best understanding of the topic.
