The Department of Information Technology and Engineering (ITE), established in 2007, is one of the pioneer departments of the School of Engineering and Technology. Over the years, it has played a vital role in shaping skilled professionals by offering quality education and research opportunities. Currently, the department offers a B.Tech. programme, a Ph.D. programme, and has recently introduced a new B.Tech. programme in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI & ML) starting from the 2025–26 academic session.

As the world is evolving rapidly with technological breakthroughs, particularly in the field of Artificial Intelligence, there is a growing demand for specialized professionals who can drive innovation across sectors. Recognizing this shift and the increasing integration of AI in every domain—from healthcare and education to finance and manufacturing—the department has taken a progressive step by launching the AI & ML programme. This new programme is designed to equip students with in-depth knowledge of modern AI technologies, machine learning algorithms, data-driven decision-making, and real-world applications.

The department’s curriculum is continually updated to keep pace with the state-of-the-art in information and emerging technologies. Students are exposed to a broad spectrum of knowledge that includes the evolution of information technology, its current landscape, and future possibilities. We strongly believe that the need for bright, innovative minds will only grow, and our mission is to nurture such talent by providing both foundational knowledge and practical skills—ultimately preparing students for leadership in the tech-driven future.
