Eligibility for Admission to M.A. English

  • Bachelors' Degree of 10+2+3 pattern with English Literature as one of the subjects or any other Degree recognized equivalent thereto from any recognized university. In case seats are available graduates without English Literature will be considered.
  • Candidates who have appeared or are appearing in the final years examination of the qualifying degree are also eligible to apply provisionally.

    • Procedure

  • For admission to Masters Degree Progamme in English merit will be calculated by adding marks secured by applicants in English Literature in B.A Part-I, Part-II and Part-III exams to their total marks in Bachelors Degree Examination.

    • Eligibility For admission to the Doctor of Philosophy programme. 
           A candidate must fulfill any of the following eligibility criteria:

  • 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade “B” in the UGC 7 -point Scale) in M. Phil. Course Work (50% for SC / ST, OBC - non creamy layer and differently abled candidates).
  • Masters degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Masters degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC / ST, OBC candidates) in aggregate or its equivalent grade “B” in the UGC 7 - point scale.
